1. Information We Collect

YardIQ is operated by Yard Pirate LLC, who acts as the data controller for the personal data described below. We collect the information you provide when you create an account, such as your email address, authentication details, and subscription status. We also collect usage data related to your walk-throughs so we can enforce plan limits and improve the app. This includes account data (email, login credentials, display name), the inventory and yard-trip records you enter, support messages, subscription status, and technical data such as IP address, device information, and usage logs.

More specifically, the categories of information we process are:

  • Account data: email address, OAuth provider information (such as Google or eBay profile identifiers), display name, and subscription tier.
  • Inventory and trip data: parts you log, vehicle year/make/model, photos, costs, pull fees, locations, statuses, sold prices, and any notes you add.
  • eBay data: when you connect your eBay account, we store OAuth tokens, eBay user identifiers, active listing IDs, sold listing information, and inventory location keys needed to import listings and publish drafts. We only access data you explicitly authorize or choose to import.
  • Technical and usage data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, feature usage, error logs, and cookies or similar identifiers.

Photos you upload are stored in private object storage and are only served to you while you are signed in to your YardIQ account. They are not made publicly accessible.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to provide and maintain the YardIQ service, authenticate your account, enforce free-trial and paid-subscription limits, and support customer service requests. We rely on the performance of our contract with you (providing the service and managing your subscription), our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, and improving the product), your consent where required (for example, optional marketing email), and legal obligations (tax and accounting records) as the legal bases for this processing. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, maintain your session, remember preferences, and understand how the app is used. Session cookies are essential for authentication. Analytics cookies, where used, are aggregated and help us improve features and performance. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, but doing so may prevent you from signing in or using certain features.

4. Third-Party Services & Subprocessors

We share personal data with a limited set of recipients: service providers and subprocessors that host the app, send email, and provide analytics and support tooling; Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, which handles the sale of subscriptions, payments, billing, invoicing, and sales-tax compliance; our professional advisers (legal and accounting); and government authorities where we are required to disclose information by law.

Key subprocessors we rely on include:

  • Paddle.com — payment processing, billing, tax, and subscription management.
  • Lovable Cloud / Supabase — application hosting, database, authentication, and object storage.
  • Email service provider — delivery of transactional messages such as sign-in links, password resets, and daily inventory digests.
  • eBay Inc. — only when you connect your eBay account and explicitly import listings or publish drafts through the service.

Each provider has its own privacy policy and handles data under its own terms. We only share the information necessary to make those integrations work.

5. Data Retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Usage and search history may be retained to support your account and improve the service. When data is no longer needed for these purposes, or after your account is closed, we delete or anonymize it, except where we must retain records (such as billing records) to meet legal obligations.

Typical retention periods are:

  • Account data: retained while your account is active and for up to 12 months after closure, unless longer retention is required for legal or tax purposes.
  • Inventory and trip data: retained while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of account closure unless you request an export first.
  • Photos: retained while associated records exist and removed when those records are deleted.
  • Billing records: retained for the period required by applicable tax and accounting laws.
  • Usage logs: retained for up to 90 days, after which they are aggregated or deleted.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, restrict or object to certain processing, receive a copy of your data in a portable format, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, please email us at support@yardpirates.com from the email address associated with your account. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, typically 30 days. You can also export your inventory data directly from within the app.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection of your data.

8. International Users

YardIQ is operated from the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our subprocessors operate. By using the service, you consent to this transfer and processing.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

10. Contact

This policy is issued by Yard Pirate LLC. For questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, please email us at support@yardpirates.com or reach out through the support channels linked on the landing page or in your account.
